This week’s guest is Lisa Koehler. She is the Founder of the Drab to Fab Life and has built a successful online marketing company mentoring women to live their best lives. She offers holistic health, wellness, confidence and pageant coaching. From Public Housing, obesity, bankruptcy and divorce; Lisa has always chosen to face those obstacles with a positive mindset. She has been seen on VH1, TLC, Fitness Infomercials and was Mrs. Universe North American 2019.
This is a super motivating and inspiring talk. You’ll hear about Lisa’s journey through weight loss & how she found her confidence through the ups and downs then ultimately competing in pageants for the first time at the age of 41. She won after 3 attempts and went on to compete in Mrs. Universe in China right before the Covid Lock down. She is a real success story and you will be blown away by her journey.
Lisa is one of those types of people who follows the pings & truly lives in the moment. She’s instinctual and goes where she feels she’s being led to go. Her story is one of perseverance & success because of that willingness to follow the calling she feels for her life! It gives her vision and purpose.
“If you’re not being defined by a vision of the future then you’re left with the old memories and you’ll be predictable in your life. If we don’t know where we are going we just get caught up in the day to day mundane.”
Another amazing accomplishment she’s had is raising 50k in 2 months time to compete in Atlanta Dancing with the Stars. She found creative ways to reach this goal and tapped into her network to host fund raising events. It was the result of persistence and thinking outside of the box.
Lisa is introspective and exercises listening to where she is being guided. Everyday she spends time with God and alternates out journaling and meditating to quiet her mind and find stillness. We talk about finding joy in the little things, being present in the moment and her definition of living authentically.
“Just be happy now. You don’t have to wait until tomorrow to be happy.”
A good piece of advice Lisa offers is this – Be a good mama to yourself as if you’re a precious little child. You have to take care of yourself the way you would a child that you love.
